SAO CHANG COLLEGE
English Department had been one of the first subjects to
be introduced right from the inception of the college in 1973. The pioneer of
the department was Dr.S.N.Singh, an eminent scholar and educationist. With the
increase in the number of students, English Honours programme was introduced in the year 1991. The
department has had the good fortune to be served by capable faculty over the years and continues to strive
for betterment each passing
year.
The department aims to foster love for literature and language in
the students and to teach the students effective speaking, reading and writing
skills. To develop an in-depth understanding of language and literacy, the
value of critical reading and effective writing.
To promote
literacy – specifically the ability to read, write and think
critically.
